Quaternions are a special form of hypercomplex numbers. Currently, we support the integer ring of the usual quaternion definition. That way, quaternions form a special Z-module. They are based, however, on the GMP-MPZ which must be available therefore.
Quaternions are represented additively by a set of basis vectors, called 1, i, j, and k. These suffice the fundamental equation:
