Q4.7.1: What is AUC TeX? Where do you get it?

AUC TeX is an extensible package written by Per Abrahamsen that supports writing and formatting TeX files for most Emacsen. Many different macro packages are supported, including AMS TeX, LaTeX, and TeXinfo.

The most recent version is always available by ftp at ftp://sunsite.dk/packages/auctex/auctex.tar.gz.

In case you don’t have access to anonymous ftp, you can get it by an email request to ftpmail@decwrl.dec.com.
