Q4.2.4: How do I customize the From: line?

How do I change the From: line? I have set gnus-user-from-line to

Gail Gurman <gail.gurman@sybase.com>

, but SXEmacs Gnus doesn’t use it. Instead it uses

Gail Mara Gurman gailg@deall

and then complains that it’s incorrect. Also, as you perhaps can see, my Message-ID is screwy. How can I change that?
